Colin Bridgerton, I need more from you king

I finished episode four of Bridgerton’s new season and I have to say that while I’m not enamored, I am intrigued enough to see what the second part holds. Most of my interest lies in the Francesca suitor hunt and the friendship between Cressida, Eloise, how they’ve navigating the season together etc. Lady Featherington has had some absolutely hysterical lines, my favorite amongst them being “Men love to explain the world to us.” Well, yes!

Things I’m truly not loving:

1.  Colin has extreme iPhone face this season and has given me no reason to invest in him personally.

2.  His carriage confession deeply lacked the desperate, yearning hunger we’ve seen from previous male leads. If that was meant to be his big moment in comparison with Anthony, Simon, Queen Charlotte and King George, then yikes… I’m woefully underwhelmed.

3.  The fact that the confession was to an orchestral version of “Give me Everything” by Pitbull was such a choice. Like that was supposed to aid in setting the mood, really?

4.  I didn’t get the usual toe-curling, red cheeks, “Omg I need to pause and catch my breath” sort of passion from the carriage scene. It needed moreee.

I’m being harsh but I was expecting to be absolutely blown away after this season being hyped up so much. Francesca and Eloise x Cressida will keep me watching. For now. Moving on, I love Steve from SATC. Rerouting to another show everyone, keep up!

(SPOILERS AHEAD)

I’m on season four where he and Miranda are prepping for the baby and he’s just so precious I can’t. That’s all. He's adorable and I’m excited to see him in his dad era. I also love the line from Samantha “Just what the world needs, another man”, after Miranda gives birth to her son in the final episode of season four. Her dialogue is so necessary in this show. At some point, I might write about how Carrie is so widely disliked in her own show as the main character and how it affects our relationship with her as viewers. I need a new show to watch after finishing Bridgerton, so I have something to switch between with SATC. At school, I would watch Smallville when eating breakfast but sometimes it just doesn’t hit the way I need it to. I say this as if there aren’t endless shows I’ve started and could go back to watching but I’m on the hunt for something new. Debating circling back to Criminal Minds? I think I was on season 11 or so when it got ripped from Netflix which I’m sure my psyche was happy about. It was my original breakfast show and starting the day off with that was a trip and a half, but I love Spencer Reid and Hotch so nevertheless, I persisted. I’m convinced my mom and Matthew Gray Gubler would really hit it off and could get married. Okay final thing. This is a reminder to all to go through your screenshots every once and a while. As a chronic screenshotter, I forget all the recommendations that are in there and it’s a fun little activity to do with some music or a podcast in the background. More on podcasting soon, I’ve found some I really like, and it’s been a fun journey. Bonne journée!
