June reflection & July goals
June has felt eternally long and not in the best way- eager to see what July brings. My June goals were to not eat any red meat and watch three fashion shows a day. As mentioned previously, I ate a wee bit of red meat in a breakfast pizza at Jenna’s birthday brunch and steak & jalapeno queso in Austin but besides that, nothing! I don’t necessarily feel any different. I liked the Beyond breakfast sausage patties and links that I bought. I also definitely leaned into beans. At points, I found myself wanting a little more variety in my protein because I had to rely heavily on chicken and salmon but, it's a good challenge to keep me mindful about my red meat consumption. The fashion show goal was easy because it was menswear & haute couture season, which was intentional on my end when I was coming up with my monthly goals.
One of my July goals is to listen to a new album every day, with an emphasis on new artists. I did this in February and that’s when I got into Chappell Roan, Noah Kahan and RAYE so I’m excited for other staple artists I'll discover this month. My second July goal is to read a physical book for 20 minutes a day. I do a shit ton of online reading but I’m determined to lean into more non-computer hobbies so I can give my eyes a break throughout the day. Hopefully I’ll finish my Saltburn book and then can move on to this other novel I got in San Diego for $5 that seems really interesting.
