Simone Rocha, Burberry & Milan FW25 Recap

LFW & MFW F25 recap! Bolded brands are my favorites of the season. Excited to see what Paris has in store.

Honorable Mention: Ferragamo, Marco Rambaldi, Roberto Cavalli

London Fashion Week

Simone Rocha: This collection used fur and leather in such interesting and beautiful ways! I loved the fur animals models were holding down the runway and I’m obsessed with the shade of blue for the satin dresses. Brooches were a well utilized motif in this collection and I really enjoyed the styling throughout. The navy hooded trench with the black brooches. NEED. By and large my favorite collection of London Fashion Week.

Burberry: Slowly but surely becoming a major Burberry stan. After last season’s collection, which I loved, my expectations were high and while I liked the SS25 collection more, they didn’t disappoint. The first look I would kill for- genuinely think it would look so good on me. I really appreciate the color scheme in this collection and I’m so curious to see the velvety pieces up close. I feel like they could read old curtain IRL, especially in these very old curtain-esque prints, but I’d love to be proven wrong.

Dsquared2: Let me just say whoever roller skated down the runway and then did the splits- I’m so envious of both of those abilities. I loved Doechii opening the show, I loved NLE’s walk, I loved the way the models were just hanging in the background of “Dsquared2 Boys Co.” and overall, it had a fantastic model lineup (Irina Shayk has never looked more stunning). However, while I know the models were supposed to be having fun and I love the creative freedom they were given, some of it felt a little sloppy. The KISS collab also felt uninspired and out of place. While I enjoyed the heavy layering elements, the collection is all over the place. I’m sure this show was very fun to witness in real life, especially with Doechii and JT closing the show with a live performance of “Alter Ego”.

Blumarine: I love the all black looks at the beginning of the collection. Granny sweaters are seemingly in for FW25, as reinforced by this Blumarine show. I love the floral motif they used, the fur trims and the almost gothic boho look they embraced. It just feels like a very cohesive and exciting collection, and I’m always a fan of collections that play with silhouettes in a fun way.

Marni: I love the shade of yellowish green they used in the collection. The fur trims are visually exciting, and it’s just a weird, perfectly Marni collection!

Fendi: The big wavy hoop hemlines remind me of seashells. Obsessed with the leather drawstring dress on Adriana Lima and the same style set in red. The little dolls in accompanying outfits on some of the models- I’m intrigued. It’s perfectly grandma, which I’ve is decidedly in. Gorgeous color scheme, great styling and I just haven’t stopped thinking about this collection.

Gucci: I didn’t love all of the styling choices in this collection, specifically some of the excessive jewelry moments and the style of glasses chosen for some looks. Overall, I enjoyed this collection. Loved the looks that had heavier embellishments, gems etc. The way the bags were being carried was slightly distressing, but that’s Gucci!

Prada: Details were intentionally left in disarray, such as extremely frizzy hair sticking to eyebrows or disheveled ponytails tucked into jackets, and slightly ill-fitting garments. The collection is very politically and socially aware, Prada often is, and the message is clear. I really enjoy the color scheme (light blue, dark browns, chartreuse, deep lipstick red) and I enjoyed the way proportions are played with.

Jil Sander: Real ones will remember how captivated the SS25 show had me. I’m still fawning over that collection and excited to take its essence into my spring and summer secondhand find missions. This fall collection didn’t scratch the same itch, and maybe that was the point, but there are still a few looks I really loved. I like the double belt situation and all of the structural elements. I think the heavy fringe looks kind of took me out in the first handful of looks, but still some magic in this collection.
