The word is whimsy: WIWTS
The word for the summer is whimsy. I want my outfits whimsical, my jewelry dainty and to generally feel like I’m a fairy floating and flitting around with my bangles loudly announcing my arrival.
Jorts, long flowy tank tops and midi/maxi skirts are my current summer staples, but I’ve been very inspired lately to continue to upgrade my easy, summer outfit formulas. I’ve been focusing a lot on accessories and jewelry but below are mostly clothing items that have piqued my interest for the season!

Halter tops: As someone who is usually self-conscious of my shoulders, the fact that I’m actively hunting for halter tops seems wild, but they’ve charmed me. They show off your collarbones really nicely, and I also feel like once I start wearing body oil and shimmering all over, it’ll be even more fun to wear a halter. This white one from Weekday has been on my mind.
Agosto Studio top: This top has been on my mind for a hot second, and I think it would be the cutest addition to my closet, especially for Lollapalooza! Love the tie straps and how the stripes go in different directions. The top is currently sold out, which is heartbreaking, but holding out hope that it will come back in stock soon.
Flowy capris: These gorgeous mocha capris with grommet holes have been living in my head for the past few weeks. Truthfully, if I found the right fabric, I could make these and save myself the $110. Plus, they’re currently sold out so I couldn’t order them if I wanted.

What I’m actively on the hunt for
Toolbelts: I’ve talked about this since the wintertime, and it remains on the list because I’m yet to score my dream toolbelt. I think I might have to cave and spend a little more on one from a small business, because the options I’m seeing on eBay and Etsy aren’t cutting it.
Funky belts: eBay has become a close friends in the past few weeks, and I’ve seen a plethora of intricate and cool belts on the site. Now, it’s just deciding which one to pull the trigger on…
Ponchos (and other lightweight knits): I think ponchos and lightweight layering pieces in pointelle, crochet, fishnet etc. are so chic for the summer and make elevating a basic outfit really easy! They’re also relatively easy to thrift.
