WIWTS (What I’m wearing this summer)

Last summer was the first time I felt like my personal style was able to truly shine through my summer outfits. Fall is where I thrive because I love layering, knits, funky jackets, tights etc. Previously, I’ve found summer hard to dress for because of the eternal struggle between wearing minimal clothing and trying to cook up creative outfits. However, I think now I have a better grip on my personal style and feel a lot more confident in my summer wardrobe. This is a wee bit scrambled, and of course ever evolving as summer goes on, but here are my current summer outfit vibes/inspo/wants & desires.

My “Summer To Buy” List:

I’ve previously mentioned mini shorts, all things orange and blue, and quality jewelry but besides that, here’s everything else I’m on the hunt for!

1. Mini skirts: Along the same vein of mini shorts. Comfortable wearing these with boots and sneakers. Most definitely will have to be thrifted because why are my favorite small brands charging $100+ for 10 inches of fabric… Shit is bogus.

2. Sundresses: I’ve never been a sundress gal but then I realized how easy they are for the summer. I have a couple, but I wouldn’t mind one or two more. Only issue is most of the time they’re in florals and I’m extremely picky about prints so it might take some time to find another sundress I like.

3. Long jorts: I need them dark wash, almost tent-like in width and a little past my knees. I need them to basically swallow me up and make me look like a 13-year boy, that’s the vibe.

4. Black lace tank: I want an elevated basic black tank. Preferably with lace. There are a billion cute small brands selling them but they’re all nonsensically expensive so the search continues.

5. Vintage pins & brooches: I’ve gotten into putting all the random pins I’ve collected over the past year on one of my bags and I love it. Brooches are sick in a vintage, grandmotherly kind of way that would be fun to embrace.

6. Little pumps: I’ve already talked about this but need, need, need more little pumps. I want to clack around.

7. Arm cuffs: Cool girl energy and I think they’d fit my vibe.

Combinations I’ll be Wearing:

A) Midi skirts and sneakers: Easy combo. I have so many midi skirts and sneakers are a staple duh.

B) Capris and heels: Only one pair of heels secured, for now, but I have 3 pairs of capris and ugh they’re too cute. I know people still don’t understand capris but trust me one day when you’re older, you’ll get it. Also, SATC influence but we knew that already.

C) Mini shorts and boots: Previously discussed, dainty and precious! My black boots are currently at the shoe repair and must purchase more mini shorts so for now, this combination is temporarily out of commission.

Fashion Influencers I’m Loving for Summer Inspo

1. Chloe Felopulos @chloe.felopulos on IG: Mentioned her in a previous post or two, I’m obsessed with her and have been following her for quite a while. On Youtube she posts every Monday, and now trying to post on Thursdays, and TRUST I am always seated for her videos. 

2. Susie Garvie @susiegarvie on IG: Love both her IG and Youtube. British, London specifically, fashion girls just do it right every time. She’s also put me on to so many small brands, mostly UK-based, but super sick nonetheless.

3. Madison Wild @madisonxwild on IG: I’ve been a fan of Madison for a while, but I especially enjoy her Tiktok and Youtube channel. She’s got a really eclectic style and her jewelry collection is BEYOND.

4. Dana Evans @danaevans6 on IG: Just found her Instagram. British of course. The word cool doesn’t do her justice. She switches up her aesthetic a lot, and yet every outfit still makes sense for her personal style.

5. Belinda Ingrid @toastedbananabread_ on IG: Also just found her Instagram and I love her style. She does layering really well and of course, has the most insane jewelry collection. I need to up my jewelry game badly.
