August reflections and September goals

This is one day late because I’ve been horribly ill the past three days but nevertheless, we move.

Of course, August, a month I always look forward to, was five seconds long. I’m hoping the “fall” months is where time will start to slow down a little bit but that’s probably just wishful thinking. I did make my bed almost every day and I’m glad this is one of the goals I picked because it really does make me feel a little more put together every morning. However, I didn’t do 20 minutes of yoga at all. Not once. I should be ashamed but honestly, going into the month I kind of knew I wasn’t going to stick with it because my brain for some reason can’t handle adding two pieces into my routine. I think my most successful months are those that have one “do this” goal and one “don’t do this” goal. Two “do this” goals and my brain is fried.

That being said, I only have one goal for September and that is to write down three things I’m thankful for every day in my journal. It’s easy to get wrapped up in what isn’t working out and I want to be super intentional this month about practicing gratitude. Fashion week is also coming up at the end of this month, so I’ll likely already be watching a lot of shows which means no need to formalize it into a goal like I did in June.
