Weekly REPORT 2/10

Last week absolutely flew by, in a semi-concerning way, to be quite honest. I read an article last week (not mentioned below but linked here) that highlighted the importance of being mindful of where we put our attention and I’m trying to prioritize that mentality this week.

A reminder that you can use archive.ph to access articles that may be paywalled, as well as articles that may have been edited or tampered with! With The Atlantic article I read below discussing data wiping, I thought it would be a good point to reshare with y’all.

READING

  1. Info wiped on CDC website at Tr*mps direction: Discusses the active wiping and tampering of critical information from the CDC’s website at Tr*mp’s direction. Researchers are trying to archive the CDC website in full, essentially a race against the clock. All of it negatively impacts the accuracy and safety with which providers in the medical industry can treat people. Reading this honestly made me tear up and sick to my stomach.

“Public-health data are collected with the intention of sussing out which populations most need health interventions; altering those data leaves behind a skewed portrait of reality”

  2. USAID dismantled at Tr*mps direction: Talks about the dismantling of USAID and the efforts abroad that will be impacted by the loss of the agency. Also discusses how a judge blocked the 30-day deadline given to oversees USAID workers. Once again, finished reading this and wanted to scream but who’s surprised?

  3. Leo Woodall for Elle UK: I think he’s a Loewe ambassador because the majority of the styling pieces are from there. As we all know, I love a Loewe boy (Harris & Drew are sustained proof of that). I’d be remiss if I didn’t point out his fantastic haircut. I love that he loves The OC. I don’t usually see rom coms in theaters but perhaps I’ll make the trip for Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy.

EATING

  1. Oikos vanilla yogurt: I have reignited my obsession with Oikos in the past week. This plus Bear Naked granola and I’m a happy girl.

  2. Iced matcha with coconut milk: I’d like to shout out Theiija who got an iced matcha at Tenfold Coffee, one of my favorite cafes, and a sip of her matcha was life-changing almost. I got it myself with coconut milk and wow, I never understood the hype of a matcha before but I’m on the train now.

PLAYING

  1. The Cutting Room Floor episode with Complex founder Marc Ecko: This episode was super engaging to watch! Discusses the history of Complex, how Marc’s spirituality has played into his career and how he has charted his path in the industry. They also discuss Marc’s book, and of course, Recho has the best questions.

  2. Famous in Love on Tubi: I watched this show early in high school and was kind of obsessed with it, and then subsequently distraught when it got cancelled after two seasons. The acting is so subpar, but the storylines are fun and seeing Bella Thorne in a main character role is very entertaining.

OBSESSING

  1. Soft Spot- 955 remix by JMSN, Sada Baby: I would like to thank Tiktok for continuing to put me on such good music. Possibly entering a JMSN phase.

RECOMMENDING

  1. The pickleification, minification, snackification of foods: Discusses food trending because necessities are skyrocketing and activities are becoming hopelessly expensive, leaving us to showcase wealth through food. A funny, insightful article about food trends and its larger connection to the state of current society.

TREATING

  1. Garage tank top: I’ve finally found what I believe to be a solid dupe of the Tankair tank top. This Garage tank was $25, really suctions you in and is great quality. I’m very excited to have this in my wardrobe, and will likely by the same tank in white and a fun color for the summertime.
