If winter was real, here’s what I’d wear

This is what I’m loving to see on others for the winter season (it was 80 degrees this past weekend) and what I’m currently loving in fashion overall based on personal style, runway looks, general creative inspiration etc. I’m hoping to get my shit together enough to film a YouTube video this week around winter fashion & my wish list pieces. Stay warm! Or if you’re in Houston right now, stay dry!

All things color

  1. Combinations I’m loving:

    A) Cherry red, light aqua blue and beige (this collection perfectly encapsulates this)

    B) Gray, baby blue and tan

    C) Dark eggplant purple and baby yellow

    D) Olive/pea/chartreuse greens and deep teal

Specific items I’m loving

Still loving a lot of the things from my WIWTF, including plaid skirts, striped tops, black biker boots, and graphic tees (all indie sleaze inspired).

  1. Dark wash selvedge denim jeans: Still on the prowl for the perfect pair. I got a pair of wider leg jeans from Bershka for Christmas, and I’m obsessed with the fit. They have the same pair in a really nice dark wash, so if I can’t find true selvedge denim, perhaps I’ll settle for those.

  2. Long trench coats: Self-explanatory, super chic and timeless. Loving them in tan and navy, specifically double-breasted and with cool buttons or savvy pocket placements.

  3. Military inspired jackets: Think Burberry S/S25 collection. Lighter shades of army green, a more cropped silhouette with fun trims, buttons, zippers etc. I can’t tell if this is a piece I’d like on myself, but I love seeing this silhouette on others.

  4. Straight leg black jeans: I have a pair of wide leg black jeans that I got from Pull&Bear in Malta, but they’re so faded after a year of running through my horrible St. Louis washing machine. Loving straighter pant silhouettes, especially for black jeans.

  5. Denim jacket with a hoodie: Peachy Den used to have the most perfect hooded denim jacket, but it’s sold out now. Has to be a dark wash and preferably double zip like this Miu Miu one or with the firefighter clasps like this Isabel Marant one.

  6. Toolbelts: @susiegarvie on IG (my queen) has been a bit of a pioneer in this realm. Even though I’m the girl to carry a bag always, I do love the functionality of a toolbelt-esque piece for easy on-the-go moments, concerts, festivals etc. Gimaguas has a gorgeous butter yellow belt that I love.

Details I’m loving

A) Suede accessories

B) Firefighter clasps

C) Big buttons

D) Pleating

What I’m actively on the hunt for

  1. Large black leather bag: I need a large, black everyday bag that can fit my laptop. I’d love a slouchier, hobo style with some solid pockets, fun zippers etc.

  2. Short peacoats: Specifically with rounded collar and preferably wool, but lightweight fabrics are obviously more reasonable for Texas weather.

  3. Quality basics: I need a quality white and black long sleeve, as well as white and black t-shirt. For the t-shirts, I’d love more of a boxy, men’s fit. I’ve seen some from Organic Basics that look like great closet additions. I think we’re going to be seeing a lot more tops like these, that mimic double basics layering to achieve the same effect.

Outfit formulas I’m loving:

A) Cropped, lightweight jacket with wide leg pants

B) Double denim

C) Stripes on stripes, stripes on plaid, plaid in fun ways

D) Layering basics on top of basics
